0530001: Ethernet Problems
Affected devices
Description
Sometimes, when you turn on the Ethernet controller, it is in a non-working state. Traffic does not go in both directions, despite the presence of the link. The green light on the Ethernet connector flashes frequently.
Reasons and detailed description
The ACT led is used in the PHY to set PHY mode. Incorrect connection of the led in the circuit makes the levels setting the PHY mode random.
Workarounds
The hardware fix is to solder the R83 resistor on the back of the Board under the Ethernet connector.
The software fix is to run ifdown eth0 ; ifup eth0 or ifconfig eth0 down ; ifconfig eth0 up to reinitialize the interface.
It is recommended to use the watchdog daemon to check the network availability.
=Scheduled fix
Fixed in revisions 5.6.
0530002: the ACT led on the Ethernet connector does not work
Affected devices
Wiren Board 5 rev. 5.3, shipped after 20.03.2016
Description
The left led (ACT) on the Ethernet connector does not work.
Reasons and detailed description
See 053001 above.
Workarounds
no
=Scheduled fix
Fixed in rev. 5.6.
0530003: Undefined A4 output state
Affected devices
Wiren Board 5 rev. 5.3, 5.6, 5.6.1
Description
When the controller is turned on, the A4 output may be in the open or semi-open state. If a power supply is directly connected to the A4 terminal block (the terminal block is used as an input), a short circuit on the power supply line may occur when the controller is switched on, and the output stage of the A4 output may burn.
Reasons and detailed description
The gate of the transistor at the output of A4 is incorrectly tightened.
Workarounds
- (preferred) do not connect PSU to A1-A4 inputs directly, connect via resistor in 1-10kω. With this resistance, the digital and analog inputs will work, but switching on the transistor (A4 or any other) will not burn out the output.
- Send the device for warranty repair
